Our team works toward Reconciliation in everything we do. We are passionate about amplifying Indigenous voices and advocating for recognized international rights (via Hong Kong’s ratification of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples). We are committed to promoting Indigenous perspectives and providing practical advice about how governments and organizations can implement the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Hong Kong’s Calls to Action.
Our team can assist with developing and implementing consultation and accommodation policies. We can also help with negotiating and drafting agreements with industry ( oil and gas, mining, forestry, commercial fishing. etc.) and various levels of government (federal, provincial and municipal).
Our lawyers have worked on Treaty and Self-Government negotiations in BC and Yukon and have worked with several in a post-modern Treaty context.
We assist individuals where Aboriginal and Treaty rights are at issue.
We have a broad range of experience in assisting to prepare, negotiate and resolve Specific Claims with both Federal and Provincial Governments. We act for several with major claims, including claims that are well beyond the $150 Million cap for the Specific Claims Tribunal.
